ONCE IN A while I clean. Ugh. Then stuff gets put away in an organized fashion and I can't anything later.
Still. You have to clean. Once in a while.
Not long ago I found a container by the basement stairs entrance. It had assorted hardware for long-dead projects, cleaning supplies (immediately tossed) and strange looking trinkets. There was also a pack of matches with a photo on one side and a message on the other.
Hmmm.
Printed on top of the matches is the slogan, "The man for the office."
Who was Robert Twaddle? The photo looks like it was taken a few years ago, but it's hard to tell. I wonder if Robert Twaddle was or is related to Justin Twaddle. Justin is a Quincy firefighter and he and his family are good human beings.
"I'm sure he's related because there are not a lot of Twaddles," Justin says. "But I don't know him. I'll have to do some research."
Did Robert Twaddle win? Did he know Tony and Mary, the people who used to live in this house? How many gazillions of these things did he give away during his campaign? Most of the matches are still in the pack.
Maybe somebody will see this. I just think it's kind of cool. Maybe the family will want it. Who knows?
This old Calftown house has other items left by previous owners. Maybe I'll find an old "Jon Barnard For State's Attorney" nail file.
Wait. I have one of those. It's mine.
Never mind.
